After working with different comissioned projects a while they decided to launch their own furniture brand. After one year of preparations they finally launched the A2 furniture collection at the Stockholm Furniture Fair in February 2009. This one of their product, colorful cabinet Collect 2011. Collect 2011 is the new member of the Collect cabinet family. It is the follow-up to the original colourful Collect cabinet and the white Collect 2010 cabinet. This house stretches on two allotments some meters above sea level, from where distant landscapes can be viewed, profiting therefore from exceptional panoramic views of the sea and the mountains. This house was designed by Ensamble Studios. Description from Ensamble Studios: The Martemar House appears on the site like a singular architectonic object, like a stranger outside the typical architectural style of the area, understanding every scale of the context. Taking advantage of the opportunities but ignoring pre-established trends. The house stretches on two allotments some meters above sea level, from where distant landscapes can be viewed, profiting therefore from exceptional panoramic views of the sea and the mountains. The structural system of the house consists of two main portal frames: one in concrete formed by a beam 2.75 m. high which makes up the garden facade, and the other a steel frame overlooking the entrance. The two frames support five steel trusses, each of them with a different aesthetic and structural vocation. These five linear structural elements organize and delimit three functional strips, which establish relational sequences between them in a play of solids and voids, physical relations and visual connections, intercommunications between interior and exterior spaces. This house has two swimming pool, one at ground floor and other at upper floor. Description from Ensamble Studios: For the Greek, Hemeroscopium is the place where the sun sets. An allusion to a place that exists only in our mind, in our senses, that is ever-changing and mutable, but is nonetheless real. It is delimited by the references of the horizon, by the physical limits, defined by light, and it happens in time. Hemeroscopium house traps, a domestic space, and a distant horizon. And it does so playing a game with structures placed in anapparently unstable balance, that enclose the living spaces allowing the vision to escape. Heavy structures and big actions are disposed in a way to provoke gravity to move the space. And this way the place is defined. The order in which these structures are piled up generates a helix that sets out from a stable support, the mother beam, and develops upwards in a sequence of elements that become lighter as the structure grows, closing on a point that culminates the system of equilibrium. Seven elements in total. The design of their joints respond to their constructive nature, to their forces; and their stresses express the structural condition they have. By the way this structure is set, the house becomes aerial, light, transparent, and the space kept inside flows with life. The apparent simplicity of the structure’s joints required in fact the development of complex calculations, due to the reinforcement, and the pre-tension and post-tension of the steel rods that sew the web of the beams. It took us a year to engineer but only seven days to build the structure, thanks to a total prefabrication of the different elements and a perfectly coordinated rhythm of assembly. All of our effort oriented to develop the technique that would allow creating a very specific space. And thus, a new astonishing language is invented, where form disappears giving way to the naked space. Hemeroscopium house materializes the peak of its equilibrium with what in Ensamble Studio we ironically call the "G point", a twenty ton granite stone, expression of the force of gravity and a physical counterweight to the whole structure. Museum of the North Expansion Fairbanks, Alaska by HGA Architects Posted: 14 Mar 2011 03:28 PM PDT Description from HGA: The Museum of the North evokes the topography of the far north. The design consists of four abstract forms-angled, curved, tipped and cantilevered-to reflect the lines and shapes of Alaska’s coastlines, mountains, and glaciers. The horizontal layering, seemingly setting the building in motion, reflects Alaska’s shifting plate tectonics. Roof planes curve and slope from every angle, playing a critical role in the articulation of form and space. Clad in custom pearlescent-white aluminum composite panels with mica flakes, the addition envelopes the existing building, its metallic finish subtly capturing Fairbanks’ varied light patterns. Inside, the museum’s heart is a sculptural two-story lobby with floor-to-ceiling windows framing views of the Alaska Range, Mount McKinley and the Tanana River Valley.

This unique and green house was designed by James & Mau Architecture.With 160m2 areas, divided in two levels and uses 3 recycled maritime containers as structure. A container cut in two parts on the first level is used as the support structure for the containers on the second level. This structure in the form a bridge creates an extra space in between the container structure, isolated with thermo glass panels. Both exterior and interior use up to 85% of recycled, reused and eco-friendly materials: recycled cellulose and cork for insulation, recycled aluminum, iron and wood, noble wood coming from sustainable forests, ecological painting, eco-label ceramics. Thanks to its bioclimatic design and to the installation of alternative energy systems the house achieves 70% autonomy. Called Hat Tea House, just 1,80 square meters; the house stands in a peaceful garden. made of oak, clothed in larch under a shingle roof. The exterior is really amazing thanks to the unusual design and the material chosen. The roof reminds of a cap and I really like it inside, it's very comfortable and peaceful.
