Posted: 15 Aug 2015 09:59 AM PDT Although a fence can be used to keep animals in or out, or for aesthetic reasons, one of the main reasons homeowners put up a fence is to provide privacy. A properly installed fence can help to keep external sounds and sights out, as well as preventing neighbors from invading your privacy and looking into your yard or deck. Many homeowners also choose to install a privacy fence if they have a pool, deck, patio or yard that is overlooked by their neighbor’s house. Privacy fences are often also installed by homeowners or business owners as a way to block out unsightly elements such as garbage cans, air conditioning units and dumpsters. Even in a small or cramped space, a privacy fence properly situated can make a huge difference to an environment, although you will also want to make sure that your privacy fence provides easy access when needed. If you belong to a homeowner’s association, check with them first as to any restrictions they may have. Privacy fences are constructed from different materials, although the most common material is wood. Apart from providing privacy, a wooden fence is more secure and easy to install. Wood is also considered to be the most attractive of all fencing materials – if left untreated it has a natural and rustic look and tends to blend in more naturally with trees, shrubs and grass. Of course, a wood fence can also be painted; it is also fairly easy to cut or shape wood to give it a particular look. Bamboo has become increasingly popular as a fencing material, not just for the amount of privacy it can provide, but for its appearance as well. Like wood, bamboo has a natural appearance to it and can be planted in such a way as to form an almost opaque screen. It’s also possible to combine fencing and shrubbery in such a way that they form a natural and effective screen. Most flowers and bushes not only look good against a bamboo or wooden fence, but also provide additional screening. You may want a privacy fence, but don’t want to shut out the outside world completely. Two possible solutions are wooden fencing that has a lattice pattern, or a tall picket style fence; both of these provide some degree of privacy but allow some natural light to filter through. A practical compromise is to have the bottom part of the fence completely solid, but with lattice or slots on the top, to not only allow light through, but to add an element of visual appeal. To completely block out the outside world, a privacy fence can be made of vinyl or brick. Although a privacy fence is primarily designed to be functional, it can also be attractive as well and can help to add value to your property. If you are thinking of installing a fence for privacy, take the time to choose the style, design and material that works best with your surroundings and your budget. Posted: 14 Aug 2015 09:58 PM PDT Edging Landscaping Ideas - My busy friends phoned to tell her what should she done for her garden. She told me that last week she has been argued with her boy friend because she was very busy. He told her that even her garden die because she too busy with her work. She cried to me and told me that he was right. She found her garden were very mess up. She said it is like a group of bushes which was to force to living. Because I could not stand on her mourn, I visited her. I met her in her back yard. Yes, she is right. Her garden was so mess up. It is really look like flock of bushes. Then, I suggested her to clean the backyard if she had time. I demanded an hour a day to re-arrange her garden. And she was agreed it. I started with the edging landscaping ideas for her. She must separate her plants in different type. It would be so bad if she mixed the vegetables plants with flowers. I told her that different edging will give her different effect of the yard. She said alright to any edging that I suggested to her. She just wanted that her room will look prettier than before. Well, working with her in doing this garden took a long time to finished, because sometimes she run from the scheduled that we already agreed it. but that's okay for me, I still wanted to help her with this. One bright Sunday when she could really off from her work, I brought her to choose some edging with match to her. She chose custom mosaic edging. She wanted her garden really living. I agreed her with this chosen. I think she needed some bright things to lighten up her days. The chosen of the edging was done, then I asked her to clean the weeds from the plants. Well, I was surprised when I done with the weeds. The weeds are growing lush than the flowers. In fact, she only had fewer plants. I could not stop to laugh at her about this. And she said that's fine, her job make her forget about her private life. After that we laughed together. Clearing the weeds was done and it is time to set up the mosaic edging. We were asking some gardener builder to do it for us. And you know, once again, she left her responsibility. She asked me to check the work of the gardener to build the edging. And once again, I am glad to do it. At night when I was almost closing my eyes, I got my phone ringing. It was from her. She said, she was surprised when she was going to her backyard. She found a perfect backyard. She thanked me time to time until I said okay stop thanking me, I wanted to sleep. But inside of my heart, I am happy because I can help her. Then on Sunday of another week, she phone me again and told me that she was dating with her boy friend in her backyard. She was so happy because her boy friend told her that she was so caring girl.
