Painting walls can create the illusion of a larger room with just a few coats of paint. Generally, the cooler colors of paint tend to make a room look more open. The various colors also have different effects on peoples mood, if you have children then I recommend using primary colors. If you are looking to create a more formal feel then choose brown, black or beige. Green is often the choice for creating a relaxing vibe, and yellow blended with green to create an outdoors look. Make your living room environmentally friendly. If you have drafty windows or doors, change them, this will help lower cooling and heating costs. Also open your windows as much as possible to let in some natural light, not only will this save you electricity but you will also be a lot happier for it. Lights. People underestimate the difference that lights make to a living room.
