| Magnificent Luxury Home Plans Design of Beach Villa Posted: 26 Jun 2012 06:06 AM PDT The beach buildings design architecture, which are slightly skewed in plan from one another, are organized around a pool and terrace to the south and a hedge-enclosed tennis court to the north. The pool runs parallel to the bluff and broadside to the squash house, which has a sitting area overlooking it. A curved, open porch at the eastern end of the squash house looks obliquely across the pool towards the mouth of Northeast Harbor.
Perched on a granite bluff overlooking Bear Island across the Eastern Way, a guest house and a squash house are the first phase of a residential compound on a magnificent site on Mount Desert Island in Maine. The structures and their related outdoor spaces were strategically sited along the western, downhill side of the site to create a buffer from the neighboring property and to maintain a large open setting at the highest part of the site for the main house planned for a later phase. This House Flats remodeling design is the renovation of an historic three-story warehouse into new urban luxury loft living spaces. This project is a response to the increasing shift in urban living that involves revitalizing existing warehouse and historic buildings in the urban core to create desirable living spaces in the heart of the city. This flats located in Kansas City's popular Crossroads Arts District.
BNIM Architects converted the existing building into a 34,500 square foot, 22-unit condominium complex featuring concrete floors, lofty ceilings, balconies and a roof garden. Since the building received historic tax credits, the existing building shell was maintained and restored. The additional 4th floor and non-historic north facade were modernized to include a 4th floor penthouse, exterior fire stairs and north facing balconies for the 2nd and 3rd floor units. The project includes a new 33-stall covered parking lot on the north side.
