House in La Dehesa by Elton + Leniz Arquitectos Posted: 01 Dec 2012 06:49 AM PST A sustainable form, this house built in 500 sqm site in La Dahesa near Santiago, Chile. This contemporary house designed by Elton + Leniz Arquitectos. The ground floor is composed of consecutive sliding rectangular strip forms outlined by exposed concrete shear walls with inlays of natural stone masonry. A datum of circulation takes one from the entrance through all the public spaces, kitchen and living room, through to the other end of dwelling and to the exterior garden. The second storey in turn contains the private bedrooms and bathrooms within a lightweight steel skeleton clad in uniform wooden planks in more singular masses that sit atop the solid base. Large full-height glass walls frame views to the back yard or out to the landscape in different directions. A rooftop courtyard provides a second exterior area among the canopies of the trees and the similar timber facade of the residence. More images please visit Elton + Leniz Arquitectos website.
