Muelle House Design by Jonas Retamal in Chilie Posted: 18 Aug 2013 09:43 AM PDT Muelle house is one of houses in big island of Chiloe, Chilie made entirely of wood. Designed by Jonas Retamal and overlooks the Castro's fjord. The region has very unstable weather so the house, which is siting on 28% slope, is protected from the fire, cold, wet weather and other disaster the nature could cause. A lot of native wood taken from a near forests: peanuts, tepa and ulmo. Thanks to their difference there are plenty of different colors with similar theme inside and outside the house. There are three volumes in the house. The first one includes service areas and a barbecue place. Two other levels features bedrooms and other private rooms for parents and their 6 children and are connected by common area with combines a kitchen, a dining room and a living room with large terrace.
