Grand: a collection inspired in bags Posted: 02 Dec 2013 06:50 PM PST The inspiration for the design and interior design comes from anywhere. One of the most common sources is undoubtedly fashion, and in this case I am not referring to trends in colors or prints, but to Accessories. In the case of the collection that I show you these images, the inspiration has come to its creators of hand of bags.
His name is Grand and was born from the collaboration between Mathieu Gustafsson designer and manufacturer of lockers Niklas Karlson, both living in Stockholm. The Grand name was chosen by both, form reflecting their vision sidewalk design and required quality of work. In this way, they have created their own brand, which by the way, is not characterized by its affordable prices.
They themselves say: “when we create our brand, didn’t think to compete in the sector of low prices. Rather we would be interested contribute to the market of furniture through artistic expression and quality”. Of course, these statements come to tell us that it is a unique and affordable collection filled with pockets. But it is also true that it is precious, elegant furniture with simple lines, to which has been added a touch of originality.
The first two parts designed by the Swedish duo were Lock and Light. Cabinet Lock, that appears in white colour and with legs stylized in these photos, draws attention to its closing mechanism of balls, exactly like the classic handbags of grandmothers. Do you remember it? Edging of brass decorating the edges of the doors brings originality and richness to a piece of furniture, moreover, minimalist design. For its part, the closet Light is based on legendary bags Palmgreens, which achieved great popularity in the 1960s by their finish in leather and rattan weaving.

Trends in ceramic flooring Posted: 02 Dec 2013 04:01 PM PST Many people did not hesitate to choose ceramic flooring for terraces, courtyards, gardens, swimming pools… The reason for this is clear, and it is that the ceramic floors do not have but advantages. They are very attractive and not go out of fashion (in fact, the Romans, Egyptians and Greeks used them); are super tough and barely there material that even its resistance to weathering; and there are so many models and combinations to choose from…
In the images that appear in this post, we can see some of the trends for this year. We take them a look?
It is one of the most charming among the new trends. Although again has little, but it is beautiful. Area is solar with a given pavement and put in the Center a motif rectangular, round, square, etc. made with tiles or different parts. If they can be styled hydraulic tile, better. The result is as beautiful as the one in the photo, and can also serve to delimit spaces without closing. We have already seen them before, but this time out of classrooms and dormitories to get to the courtyard and garden. I am referring to clay soils that mimic materials such as stone (above), timber (in the first picture), slate or rusty metal, among others. Its neutral tones are perfect to wear with any style of furniture, and on all those who imitate the stone are beautiful with the green of the garden.
Lately were much the soils of wood flooring in this area; they are very elegant and are warm. But this year is essential to combine them with ceramic tiles, especially if it is non-slip type. Watch out! This detail is very important for security. In this pool a stoneware high brightness that combines perfectly edge has surrounded with wood and mosaic of the water. A complete success. |

The space occupies the ship 15 of Matadero Madrid and was rehabilitated and equipped by architects María Langarita and Victor Navarro. In addition to this award, project was also awarded previously with the FAD of architecture.
The prize is more than well deserved. Both single professionals took two months to transform a little attractive and empty space in a dynamic, welcoming and avant-garde Center.
