Fresh and Vibrant Home Interior in London Posted: 06 May 2014 12:34 PM PDT This interior design of home in Highbury, North London. This project design from Kia Sunda from Kia Designs. Kia is the founder of Kia Designs: she has a BA in History and 10 years experience dealing with high quality furniture and fabrics. Interior Design is a passion for Kia. This home is based in Highbury, North London, relatively close to the new Arsenal stadium. Although the clients gave us almost complete artistic control they also provided us with numerous specifications that needed to be fulfilled. It was of paramount importance that the 'living room' be spacious as the owners often use the room for yoga. In order to make the most of the available space in the room we designed beautiful bespoke shelving as well as a seating area by the window which also acted as a storage system for yoga mats! The clients also specified that the room should have more of a 'winter' feel to it: in order to achieve the necessary warmth we chose a attention commanding blue which we felt was soothing and fresh, as well as inviting. The bedroom also required bespoke storage in order to house a number of items that would otherwise clutter the room. Many of the panels behind the bed are actually storage compartments and even the platform upon which the bed sits houses deep drawers. This project was made possible through the use of clever storage: although bespoke furniture is expensive it allows one to make the most of their precious London space and can make for a clean and stunning finished article." Verdant Avenue House by Robert Mills Architects Posted: 06 May 2014 12:34 AM PDT This Verdant Avenue House was designed by Robert Mills Architects. According to the DigsDigs : It is a home that showcases a modern aesthetic, form, function and details alongside the nature. Besides, the home is sustainable without losing in glamour, luxury and pleasure of living there. An 80 year old pin oak tree serves as the focal point for the ground floor living and first floor bedroom areas. A striking 3.5 meter wide spiral staircase is an another focal point on this floor. Floor to ceiling glass windows also add a dramatic touch to the interior. The exterior entertaining spaces separated from the ground floor areas by glass walls and sliding doors. There is a 25 metre lap pool outside, which runs the length of the building and provides natural evaporative cooling to the living areas.
