This magnificent building is located in the international business Yongsan district in Seoul. Apparently it seems the typical office building of a financial quarter of any city in the world, but the reality is different. It is a building residential compound by two towers elegant with a height of 214 meters and 204 meters, connected by two bridges located 140 meters and 70 meters in height, which will accommodate more than 600 homes and high quality services, including a library, a gallery space and one nursery, among others. This design has been made because Yes. Its shape, situation and mission have several whys. The Koreans have been given account which, in recent years, the tide human that it moves from the suburbs to the Centre of the city and vice versa has grown in a spectacular way. You have a city empty at night and drain satellite cities and suburbs during the day with a huge and costly structure of transportation to connect them, is incredibly stupid. BIG proposal wanted to solve this important topic and for that reason has designed the Tower cross that solves this problem, moving workers who formerly lived on the outskirts and thus reduce traffic and therefore the economic cost. After the collapse of the World Trade Center in New York (United States) in 2011, many have been architects who wanted to make a terrorist attack-resistant skyscrapers. Therefore, BIG, joined both towers through a set of bridges located different levels, metro-calle – sky.

OpenBook, a comfortable reading area Posted: 19 Dec 2014 03:40 PM PST
Seeing that there is more demand for this type of furniture, designers do not stop to create the most interesting proposals. One of the last that we have known is OpenBook, a compact unit that allows to create a reading area in any space with the feature of having the vast majority of things within reach. Would you like more details? Created by TILTDesign Studio, OpenBook is composed of a Chair and a small library. As you can see in the images, although it is built in wood, the interior structure is fully upholstered and with two distinct sides to have everything you need at hand: on one side a mini library is to keep books of any size; the other a comfortable corner to place magazines and newspapers of any shape and size. For if it were, also a small shelf to place the coffee or anything else we want. The OpenBook is the evolution of a sofa designed by TILT that arose from the need, since it was designed for a listed building that was not allowed to hang shelves on the walls. Without a doubt, it’s a super interesting proposal for small dwellings and open spaces-style loft, where you need a little bit of intimacy when reading. What you did think the idea?
