House Colunata, pure geometry Posted: 05 Jan 2015 03:41 AM PST Many times we don’t think about the game that gives and the importance that has the geometry to give shape to a House. Today I discovered this wonderful house located in Lagos, Algarve, where geometry and nuclear white are the core of a modern and fresh design. The Portuguese architect Mario Martins gives life to this House, located in a rocky area by the sea, and designed so that the view are the most important thing there form and the use of glass in a recurrent manner. A home where peace of the surroundings is strained on all sides. When a House is built in an environment so pleasant is important to bear in mind the importance of visibility but also to give a shape to the House that you have specific views . This is what Mario Martins has managed with the Colunata House. With a curve along its facade that allows to have an incomparable view of the sea, the House fits the natural curve of the landscape and allows more glass-enclosed space where the glass becomes an indispensable when it comes to conceiving the project. With a few lines which are is if same very decorative, decoration of the House gives centre stage to the spaces. White is recurrent both abroad and in the interior and thanks to the glass and the color, the light bounces all over. Minimalist and modern, without stridency, decoration transmits serenity and relaxation making this home a perfect place to do nothing more than look at the infinite and enjoy the sound of the sea. Once inside, the curved lines are softened and are hidden to perfection so that the entire space becomes usable. A haven of peace. A house in Lima Posted: 04 Jan 2015 03:40 PM PST In each of the projects carried out by the Longhi Architect Studio nature has always played a key role. On this occasion, a young couple went to his office to handle the design and construction of a house in which people will live forever and in that time had very clear that it would be a great opportunity in their pursuit of contemporary ancient architecture. The chosen place to House this House was the place where the couple lived with their two children, i.e., there was a House. Thus, the study was dedicated to demolish material, while retaining the spirit of the home, aiming to replace the old building with a “forever home”. The result was the following. To create this wonderful house, designer raised his work as if he had found a large rock ancestral in place that need to be carved. The result would be a dwelling consisting of a 4 car garage, patio, room service and exchangers for swimming pool in the basement, and kitchen, dining and living space on the first floor. In the interior spaces of the home, fixed, strong textured furniture, were generated by all complemented by natural and artificial materials with the objective of maintaining the allegory of the stone, which remains the most natural possible, giving the feeling of being part of the garden. Finally the composition, the designer told a black stone that supports four cantilevered volumes containing the intimate rooms, which are represented by the stones white floating.
