With only items made of concrete and glass and limestone and wood, with an almost Japanese sense of space that House has a quiet non-authoritatively is unusual for the architecture of these materials. Vienna luxury loft Posted: 16 May 2015 04:41 PM PDT Although New York is the city that we associate with the most impressive lofts undoubtedly, the trend of architects and interior designers with regard to the recovery of these spaces has come to all the cities of the world. In Vienna, the study Lakonis Architekten has regained an apartment located in an ancient building to create a contemporary, open-plan loft and finishes and full materials of modernity. The loft occupies the top two floors of a building located in the old town. The Studio managed to renovate the space with an avant-garde project, but respecting the historical needs of the structure at all times. From the outside, everything you see at first glance is a building classic and elegant; But if we look closely, we can distinguish between a structure on the top floor built with concrete, steel, wood and glass. If the exterior is impressive, as we can see in the top photo, they have nothing to envy the Interior stays, where the simplicity of lines and colours been respected to favour natural lighting and not saturating the spaces. In the Hall there is a curious “wall of books”: a library embedded in a wall, as a niche, which ensures the maximum utilization of space. The concrete has been the material chosen for walls, floors and ceilings inside the loft, with the idea of cooling the interiors (it should not be forgotten that we are in an attic, with overheating that involved). The rows of facing windows also provide cross-ventilation. In addition, the property has a kitchen shaped waste bin with two levels and skylights in the roof, while the staircase leads to the spacious terraced roof.
