Thanks to the donut shape of the building, built on the banks of the Pearl River, the reflected in water form, becomes an eightfigure, an important symbol in Chinese culture. Would you like to know more about this amazing building? The idea of the project was to design a building that is immediately understood as a Chinese landmark, using a central structure closed instead of the Western stereotypes .
On the other hand, the building makes reference to the “quadratura del cerchio” (squaring the circle), theme of the Italian Renaissance. The two circular walls contain and support plants that actually “fit” the perfect circumference of the facades to the orthogonal interior space and livable. Thus, the 33-story are grouped to create two rows of volumes that appear on one side of the building and are gradually pushed to one end, 25-metre cantilever. The main interior space is a hall of Exchange which is just under the hole in the building. This is the heart of the complex and the entire company.
