Some problems that might disturb our experiment is sometimes the result of the data found in the experiment area is affected by factors or certain variable which is affected to the accuracy of our measurement. From many kinds of theories which are being used in experiment, I will take an example to discuss. It is randomize block design. What is the randomize block design? Well, I will use some easy words to explain about randomize block design to make you understand it easily. Such example, you want to give some experiment for the students. So, we better blocking the sex of the students to control the experiment. Thus, the variability is controlled which will be leading your experiment to great accuracy. You might not forget that there are many factors which will affect your experiment, especially the accuracy. So, that's why we must blocking the factors for more accurate. One thing that we might remember in randomize block design is, that there is only one factor or variable that is become the primary interest. But, we might also notice that there are also many nuisance factors that might effect to your measurement even though the nuisance factors are not the most primary interest. What is nuisance factor? To explain it, I will give you some example. They are; the room of the experiment taken, the temperature of the room and time of the day where the experiment taken.    Nuisance factors can be controlled with blocking technique. This blocking technique will eliminate or reduce the contribution to experimental error. Then, how to do it? Well, basically the concept of blocking is creating the homogeneous blocking which we held constant and the factor of interest is allowed to vary. In this blocking you must follow the rules that you should block something that you can do and randomize things that you can't do. For more, please tell me the formula of the randomize design. Okay, I will give you the formula of the randomize block design below. Here is the model of the randomize block design with one nuisance factors: Yij = µ +Ti + Bj + random error Explanation of the formula: Yij is observation of X1 = i dan X2 = j X1 is the primary factor X2 is the blocking factor µ is the general location of parameter Ti is the affect for being in treatment i (of factor X1) Bj is the effect for being block j (of factor X2) I think it is clear enough to understand about randomize block design and I hope it will help you to measure the experiment.
