Luxurious Swiss mountain loft Posted: 19 Aug 2015 04:42 AM PDT A House like this in the mountain is a real luxury, especially for lovers of nature and winter sports. It is located in Zermatt, Switzerland, and was designed by its owner, Heinz Julen, architect, painter and sculptor of the country. It’s an open loft and spacious, more than 300 square meters, with breathtaking views of the beautiful landscape that surrounds it. It was built with steel, concrete, wood and glass, materials which create a kind of very special constructive harmony. The sense of space, the light that enters streams through the large windows (some six meters high) and the absolute closeness to nature, which seems to get inside the House, are architectural building keys. The main space of the ground floor, completely Open, corresponds to a great lounge to enjoy landscape snowy in the heat of the interior (there is a fireplace that is oddly placed in the glazing). The blinds are controlled electronically, in a way that is possible to control the lighting of interiors. The protagonist of the show is undoubtedly the great sofa facing the large window where the fireplace is. In one corner stands a Steinway piano, while the rest of the furniture was designed by the own Julen. A metal staircase leads to the upper floor, which features chill-out with sofa, TV, bathroom, a kitchen, a bar in a cantilever and a toilet area. There are two double rooms, one above the other, overlooking the open space of the loft. Both have their own bathroom. Building of harmonic lines Posted: 18 Aug 2015 04:41 PM PDT This beautiful building, which combines a unique formal balance with an attractive asymmetry, is located in Luxembourg and is the work of the METAFORM Architecture study. Was it completed in 2012, and it seems impossible (but so) in a compact volume we have been able to include no less than seven houses full of amenities. The building is located in a residential neighborhood populated with single-family buildings located so deepens his lonely feeling. This new property comes to break this monotony, creating a microcosm of floors, seasoned by a fantastic public outdoor areas. The envelope of the building is made entirely with white fiber cement panels , which give the House its monolithic appearance and keep alive the sense of tranquility that provides the project. The building consists of different volumes that are mixed in the continuous grid of the facade, and that blurs the division between plants, breaking the concept they have of “story building” in a radical way. Each window is individually conceived so all of them could be framing views of attractive, or provide natural light to the Interior. These “hidden openings” play a leading role in the sculptural image that was pursued during the conception of the project. The ultimate goal was to avoid the plain and simple duplication of dwellings, and was achieved by individuality and customization of the indoor and outdoor spaces.
