All of them are designed for astounding and amazing, breaking the usual urban landscape to create structures that seem to come a few years. These curious places arouse passions and hatreds but of course architecturally many of them are authentic landmarks that we can not help but admire. The Apple Store that was built in the District of Pudong (Shanghai, China) is an example than this of what we speak. It has been designed for Apple Inc. by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson architecture, responsible for architecture Studio also of the iconic Apple Store of Fifth Avenue from NY. This impressive office (at least for the exterior-superior part) is characterized especially by its entrance, a huge cylinder glass of nearly 10 meters high and you can see in these photographs. This transparent structure stands on a large urban square in the Middle, placed itself under a circular patio slightly sunk into the surface. The idea is that visitors have access to the offices through the glass cylinder and be to the Apple store on the bottom floor. This journey is made through a spiral of glass that seems to lead directly to the inside of a spaceship… Nothing further from the truth. While the establishment is very large and bright, its austere, minimalist design is intended for perfect display of Apple products, leaving for abroad architectural virtuosity. Photos:Roy Zipstein.
