Regard the position of ground water conditions. Ground water condition is certainly different in each region. If groundwater in lands that were built high enough, there are several ways that can be done. The first step is to prepare the pump, then block around the work area with plastic or tarp. Better choose furnishings made impervious to water, like plastic materials. 6. Pay Attention about air circulation. Basement room is in the basement, so it is very possible that have high humidity levels. To avoid humidity, plan a good air circulation system. Therefore need to be considered regarding the circulation of air in it. There are 2 types of air circulation that can be applied in your basement. – Natural air circulation. These circulations do not need the assistance of a mechanical air circulation. There are several ways to obtain a natural air circulation in the basement. First, apply the semi basement systems. In this system are not all the building basement built under the ground, but there’s a part of the basement that is above ground. This is the part that can be used for ventilation. The outward-facing in semi basement systems can be used as circulation. Second, use the sunken levels. A sunken level is made with the way in which one side of the basement is open to the outside. Side facing to the outside can be utilized to get natural air circulation. Third, build houses on the slopes or sloping land. Building basement on house on sloping land does give double benefits. In addition to being able to used for the circulation of natural, sloping position could also be used to circulate water, so minimize the use of a mechanical device (pump) in the basement and a semi basement. The slope of the land can be used for the circulation of air and light. – Artificial air circulation like AC or exhaust fan 7. You must consider about furniture and lighting in the basement. After the basement space already designed, you will need to equip it with the furniture. For set up the furniture properly, consider the function of the space. Adjust the size of the piece of furniture with space extents. Be aware also of magnitude on the basement entrance to the furniture that you purchase can be put in the room. If everything is in place, complete the basement room with the good lights, so it can be comfortably used to have activity.
