For those homeowners who have set their heart on having a wooden cottage or beach house, you can find reclaimed hardwood for flooring. Traditional wood flooring is not popularly considered eco-friendly because of illegal logging and deforestation issues. However, you can have wood flooring if you find for reclaimed woods. These are wood from the trees chopped for a long time already. Or if reclaimed hardwood is really difficult to find, you can search for hardwood with FSC label. This guarantees that the produce of hardwood adheres to strict environmental standards. Fortunately, there are more and more designers who have thought of searching for other flooring options without producing a huge impact to the environment.
