Summer House on the Balear Islands Posted: 19 Apr 2012 06:28 AM PDT Pablo Serrano Elorduy is a Spanish architekt, who was asssigned to design a summer house on Menorca, the biggest of the Balear Islands. The main goal of the project was appropriate distribution of the interior and its decent connection with the exterior allowing both spaces to complement each other. Relations with the surroundings is not only important because of the beautiful scenery around, but also because they affect the comfort of living. The architect was inspired by the typical Menorca "tanca", stone walls, dividing and separating territories. "Menorquinas" wooden sliding slats filtering intensive sunshine and creating privacy were inspirational for the design of pergolas. They combine the vertical plates of the east and west fascades with horizontal ones of the south facade. Most of them are reaching the ceiling from the floor thus building an elegant continuous line. The interior is divided into three parts with a stairway in the centre connecting basement with the first floor. These parts are surrounded with several semi-open spaces at the sides creating a smooth transition between the exterior and the interior. The atmosphere exuded by the villa is striking and everyone who sees it must simply feel the ocean breeze stroking his hair at the very first sight.

Beautiful Family Residence in Buenos Aires Posted: 18 Apr 2012 06:28 PM PDT Finished by Andres Remy Arquitectos, the house is built above an irregular and oriented lot. Created in boxy structure, this family home is painted in pure white for both exterior and interior with stone walls as an accent. Minimalist yet clean becomes the main character of the Carrara House. Situated in Pilar, Buenos Aires, Argentina, the house has a large outdoor pool with cozy spot for lounging in the outdoor. Green garden, turquoise of the water and white painted walls go very well, creating a perfect balance of a living space. Complemented with refreshing indoor pool, the house offers more than just beauty but relaxing ambience as well. Measuring about 660 square meters, the house can be accessed via a strong black door. Carrara marble is dominated the interior architecture, providing a calm and cozy atmosphere. Large glass walls are installed in almost all around the house, allowing natural light fill in the living area, dining room, kitchen, sitting area, bedroom and more. An indoor pool with clear glass cascade becomes an attractive element to welcome guests before entering the public room or stepping up to the private room. The last room that we'd love to show is the bedroom that is finished in white background, a cozy black bed, simple shelf and large glass windows. The Carrara House is another concept of minimalist black and white house, which could provide a refreshing interior design. And what we love most is the indoor pool that becomes the heart of the ground floor. We hope you'll find a great inspiration from Andres Remy Arquitectos for creating your own dream home.
