Sustainable Design Villa Nyberg by Kjellgren Kaminsky Architecture Posted: 13 Apr 2012 06:29 AM PDT Kjellgren Kaminsky Architecture built Villa Nyberg in Borlänge, Sweden for Emrahus & the Nyberg family. The villa is part of a series of prefabricated buildings that handle in design of passive solar architecture concepts. The objective of this type of housing is to carry this form of sustainable living as many people as possible. The prefab home is a well insulated building that holds solar energy and the same energy that occurs within the home. According to estimates, the energy consumption of this house would 25kWh/m2 year. Located next to a lake, its rounded shape reduces thermal bridges and the total area of the walls. The most private areas such as bathrooms or rooms are located on the back with smaller windows facing the surrounding vegetation. |
