Ultramodern kitchen, Movable Kitchen Design Posted: 31 May 2013 09:43 PM PDT Marcello Zuffo, a senior designer with Motorola's Consumer Experience Design Group, entered the 2008 Electrolux/Interior Design Magazine competition for innovative kitchen design and took the Grand Prize with this design: an ultramodern kitchen with multiple movable components. As required by the competition, Electrolux ICON appliances are incorporated throughout the space while the overall design can be shifted and manipulated to adapt to whatever task is required of the space. The contemporary aesthetic allows for the user to be creative with what would otherwise be a boring, rectangular kitchen floor plan, and encourages an interesting degree of user interactivity between Zuffo's design and your day-to-day preferences. In fact, you might as well change up the space every few weeks just to try something different. |
Nelson Atkins Museum, Sculpture Park, Steven Holl Architects Posted: 31 May 2013 09:43 AM PDT Circulation and exhibition merge as one can look from one level to another, from inside to outside. The “meandering” path in the sculpture garden above has its sinuous compliment in open flow through the continuous level of new galleries. Glass lenses bring different qualities of light to the galleries while the sculpture garden’s pathways wind through them.
