From architects : ” Cross-axial circulation defines separate zones of public and private space and gives order to this triangular site facing a golf course. The impact of the building on this gently sloping site is mitigated by massing which terraces with the topography. Further connecting the house to the landscape are rooms that open to courtyards and a colonnade that extends from the entry to the fairway. “ |
South Melbourne Residence by Nicholas Murray Architects Posted: 24 Oct 2013 09:44 AM PDT From Architects : ” This new building was created on a compact infill site in a business zone. This allowed NMA to discard the usual constraints associated with development in residential precincts. The 3-storey residence is built to all boundaries with the living/entertaining areas placed at the highest level to provide occupants with a sense of outlook and ventilation in a built-up area. The floating plywood lined roof is up-lit at night, providing a warm lantern effect that is highly visible from its surrounds. ”
