From Architects : ” An industrial backdrop provides an inspiring location for this refined, full width extension to an existing triple fronted Victorian. The existing house was demolished beyond the front four rooms and a large 15m wide extension spanned nearly the full width of the site. A palm tree placed in the central Castlemaine stone walled courtyard beside a 12m lap pool provokes a sense of oasis and escape from the industrial context. This residence forms part of a larger development that consists of boutique office suites and apartments that were constructed within the grounds of the previous residence and adjoining warehouse. ”

Designed by Tony Owen Partners, this facility houses the national headquarters for Harley Davidson Australia. It is the first building TONDM are designing for the new Lane Cove Business Park for Demian Developments. It contains office space, showrooms as well as training facilities, classrooms, warehousing, gymnasium and breakout space. The design was inspired by the mechanical specification of the motor bike engine.
