How to decorate with retro furniture and hit Posted: 26 Nov 2013 01:52 AM PST Not long ago, in Decorablog, we published a post on retro-style decor. The truth is that I don’t mind nothing return on this subject, given the interest and its undeniable charm. The retro trend like it so much, it has been a few years being the protagonist of many magazines and fairs of decoration. The retro furniture and accessories are object of desire, and there is no firm that boasts it will not inspire in the years 50, 60 and 70 to design their current collections.
Decorate with furniture retro style is not as easy as it seems: If we go, run the risk of having a House like the one of the first chapters of ‘Tell me’… The idea is to achieve environment balanced and beautiful, with a touch nostalgic but also elegant and modern.
The first thing I recommend is that you don’t spend you a fortune in new furniture or exclusive shops. If you take a look at the homes of parents, grandparents and other insurance that you find pieces full of charm that they were about to pull… The traces and unpacking are also perfect events to find that 50′s table that we both want to have, or a table for the television which had shelves and magazine rack. Don’t forget to bargain!
If you already have furniture, is the time of finding their place. These pieces are very well in rooms decorated with bold colours and geometric wallpapers. You can leave blank walls and wall others striking form, to not go. Decoration accessories are also very well directly kitsch (these figures that formerly were horrified us), phones with fun shapes, murano glass accessories and cylindrical shade lamps. Ah! And mirrors with Sun, a retro icon. In the pictures you can see four perfect examples of how well decorate with retro furniture… And not die trying saturation.

Hidden loft between vegetation in Chile Posted: 25 Nov 2013 08:25 PM PST This loft is located in the middle of the field, hidden among vegetation, in a place away completely from any town centre in Santiago de Chile. It is a taller-estudio belonging to a Greek philanthropist, he needed a refuge in which to think, live and work.
The architect in charge of the planning of the building was Matías Silva Aldunate, who faced the custom as a different project, which aimed to achieve a place in which to be able to disconnect and isolate themselves from the noise. The loft, built in the year 2011, is set in a large Hill which enjoys spectacular views of the city.
The construction is divided into distinct two parts , each of which is located at one end of the field, which has a total 4,000 square meters. The first houses workshop, the kitchen, the bedroom, the bathroom and sauna. From the attic the city you can see through a double-height portico.
The second area includes a swimming pool, BBQ area, a bathroom and the winery. Both parties are related through different paths, resulting in different areas of rest and contemplation. They were chosen as materials for building ribbed concrete blocks and metal structures lined with corten steel. In addition, these materials become great supports for climbing plants that eventually will be large vegetal walls. The slope of the terrain helps drive the waters of the vegetation in a natural way. |

Leroy Merlin presents their Tempos of summer Posted: 25 Nov 2013 04:42 PM PST Although again in some places it seems that we have returned to the coldest days, the summer is getting closer and decoration companies have echoed this constantly, presenting trends, collections, catalogues and lines of furniture. Today I am going to talk about the Tempos summer 2013 Leroy Merlin, which are already a classic in every season of the year.
Under the name of Tempos signature refers to various trends and proposed decorative destined to serve as inspiration to their customers. Of course, with rooms decorated entirely with items and branded products.
The Tempos summer 2013 propose to decorate rooms with light and colour, but always adapting to a budget. This year, the names of the Tempos are Design, colorful, Chic and Natural charm, while environments inspired by them are Geo glass, Tropical Glamour, Glamour Tropical and Mediterranean. Let’s start with the Tempo Design and environment Geo Crystal: inspired by the architecture and decoration, is based on the marked volumes and metallic colours, highlighting especially cold as blue, chrome and black tones.
For its part, the Tempo colorist proposes an atmosphere of Tropical Glamour, influenced by the style of the 50′s and with materials such as bamboo, Golden, and ceramics. The colors that stand out are acidic and fresh: pistachio, yellow and turquoise. Tempo Chic moved us to the 19th century with its Natural environment a nostalgic atmosphere with aged shades of dusty and furniture. Pink, mauves and LILACS go hand in hand with the green range. The atmosphere romantic and floral spirit.
Finally, Mediterranean is the name of the environment of the Natural charm Tempo: more intense rusticity bathing of the Sun and the history of the Mare Nostrum. The textures are protagonists and also natural materials, such as stone or flax. White in all its shades, is the color par excellence, mixed with blue, green, rose and gray very clear. |
Retro-style decor Posted: 25 Nov 2013 03:18 PM PST The best style of decoration does not have to be the most avant-garde. Sometimes the vintage and retro can do to make your home stand out above the rest with its own personality, but to do this you must be convinced that is the best option. The latest proposals tend to be more bearable, but which are retro not supported average: you like or don’t like.
To achieve a retro style I recommend supporting your imagination on five standards indispensable to give a new life to your home with an air of melancholy. Notes:
In the 1960s and 1970s furniture were not as of now. The Forms rounded were that more also and curves were all the praise. If you are looking for something retro 100%, you must assume it. Strong shades are the Palm. Combinations in Orange, yellow and red varieties you will move to another era. You should go for them to paint the walls and when choosing furniture and accessories.
Old painted and remodeled kitchen furniture will serve to achieve a retro decor. Wood and metal, materials more prominence once employees, recover. Retro and vintage are very close, so strip of imagination and get you life to find phones from the time, tableware of porcelain naif, vinyl, classic pictures, old gramophones or turntable players… It will give you a tour of an antiques market come very well. That Yes, it should also be said that there are those who prefer not to buy too many things and opt for a minimalist retro style, as for example in the first picture of this article. Geometric designs and prints are the protagonists. Do not be afraid and risks both walls with textiles. The more risk better, although not forget the space that deserve flowers. |

Luxurious Swiss mountain loft Posted: 25 Nov 2013 11:32 AM PST A House like this in the mountain is a real luxury, especially for lovers of nature and winter sports. It is located in Zermatt, Switzerland, and was designed by its owner, Heinz Julen, architect, painter and sculptor of the country.
It’s an open loft and spacious, more than 300 square meters, with breathtaking views of the beautiful landscape that surrounds it. It was built with steel, concrete, wood and glass, materials which create a kind of very special constructive harmony.
The sense of space, the light that enters streams through the large windows (some six meters high) and the absolute closeness to nature, which seems to get inside the House, are architectural building keys.
The main space of the ground floor, completely Open, corresponds to a great lounge to enjoy landscape snowy in the heat of the interior (there is a fireplace that is oddly placed in the glazing). The blinds are controlled electronically, in a way that is possible to control the lighting of interiors. The protagonist of the show is undoubtedly the great sofa facing the large window where the fireplace is. In one corner stands a Steinway piano, while the rest of the furniture was designed by the own Julen.
A metal staircase leads to the upper floor, which features chill-out with sofa, TV, bathroom, a kitchen, a bar in a cantilever and a toilet area. There are two double rooms, one above the other, overlooking the open space of the loft. Both have their own bathroom. The third bedroom, the principal, is a completely private, with separate bathroom, dressing room, TV, sofa, etc. |
