This House is perched on a small shelf along the steep topography of the NW Cornell road. Intervention on the ground in a way light building out. The House is accessed by a bridge of stainless steel that connects the House at its middle where the dining room and the center of the home. The more up side of the building is located on a stand of FIR Douglas and pines characteristic of the nearby forest park, while the downhill side is left unchanged with panoramic views of the city and the mountains. As well as a medieval tower house, this House has a main room per floor with space for support added to the perimeter of the building. Actually the Tower House is organized into three main rooms (living, dining and bedroom) that float freely in the skin of the tubular-shaped building. These rooms are high, with volumes generous spaces finished with sawn white oak planks rubbed with oil. It’s simple and quiet rooms with a sense of luxury that comes from the authenticity and craftsmanship. White Oak is limited to these spaces creating a strong boundary between the room inside and outside, which increases the feeling of being held and content. For its part, the lining of the House is seen as a “manga”, i.e. as if it were a garment stretch that pulls down on the structure. It is made of corrugated steel vertical black with rounded edges, eliminating the need to adjust the corner. It is a continuous, uninterrupted surface punctuated only by windows and gallery openings. The staircase, with Interior and exterior openings, acts refracting light loft environments providing a glow, gently filtered in the environment. Closets and bathrooms have an intimate scale with a feeling of being hidden, hidden and private. The post A Tower House in Portland appeared first on Belleinterior. |
Ideas to decorate the bathroom with stones Posted: 19 Oct 2015 04:41 PM PDT
The best thing is that these elements of nature allow you a lot of decorative options without having to make a large investment of money, since you can pick up the river. So you have a good excuse to spend a day surrounded by nature. Although find stones in the River a very affordable option can be, the truth is that natural stones which exist on the market are rather costly, at least in what refers to coatings. However, will be a good investment, since natural stone coatings can last you a lifetime. Natural stone bathtubs, are also very attractive but they will only be suitable for large baths, and sinks created with this material. If currently noi have sufficient budget to create this type of bath, you can incorporate stones in other ways. For example, you can place them in a large pan of glass or ceramic, always in line with the rest of the decor. Placed beside the handrail or on a shelf below the level of the eyes it will bring a very interesting zen touch. In addition, stones will be great in cylinders transparent, especially if it’s white stones. Another interesting idea is to create a small garden of style zen in some corner of your bathroom, gathering stones in the sand. If you add a source the result will be even more attractive and relaxing. Another option is to create a carpet of stones that you can position in front of the bath or the shower. You then leave you with a few pictures of bathrooms decorated with stones that you will serve as inspiration to decorate yours.
