Decorate cabinets with self-adhesive plastic Posted: 01 Jun 2016 04:41 AM PDT The colour surfaces are always an interesting touch to any room in the House. Cabinets, for its size and its straight lines, are very susceptible to look large coloured surfaces. However, change a wardrobe that is in good condition is an important investment, which also today is more problematic than ever.
For this reason I think that it is a good idea to try to give an different air to our wardrobes by colour. And for this, nothing better than the self-adhesive, plastic that can be found in the centers of DIY in many colors and designs.
To be able to stick the plastic so that it is perfect, it is best wardrobe have completely smooth and without moulding surfaces. If it is white you can use transparent colored plastic, which provides a very attractive light. But is not necessary: there are opaque models of many colors perfect for this purpose. If your cabinet doors have trim, try to remove them: that you don’t worry that holes for nails or brands, left because just sand a little surface to be able to cover it. The plastic will cover defects.
Well stick blades on surfaces is not as easy as it might seem. They must be absolutely clean, and before gluing the plastic we measure it and cut with care. It is always easier to cover the entire leaf, to the edges, and cut off the excess. Before gluing the plastic it should be vaporize the Cabinet with water, to go after pasting it little by little, by removing the protective paper as we move forward. A rubber spatula (or a roll of this material) will be excellent allies to place plastic perfectly. If you also ask help, sure that your cabinets will be as beautiful as the photographs. Pioneering social housing in France Posted: 31 May 2016 04:41 PM PDT This project is one of which in more Decoarq have liked lately. And is for many reasons, but mainly because for a time, the architecture more modern and beautiful is not only for those who can afford it.
It’s a series of social housing built in France as a project of the architectural firm Tetrarc, which unite beauty and functionality in equal parts, by configuring a set that is destined to become an architectural landmark in the region. The houses are in Saint-Gilles Croix de Vie, a port located next to the Atlantic.
To demonstrate that urban renewal can merge with already existing structures in cities without creating a rupture, the architecture Studio designed a number of houses distributed horizontally which come to replace a series of houses built in the 1960s and who were in ruinous State semi. 36 new houses in total, comfortable and that will give shelter to over a hundred people.
Those responsible for the project have reviewed carefully the buildings existing in the area, as well as dimensions that have houses which are usually built in the region. The houses that have emerged from this study are distributed to the Lake of “streets” of various lengths, creating small corridors and courtyards that generate a physically permeable inviting urban space to travel the rest of the citizens. This provision will provide the owners of these social housing a series of advantages, such as the children’s play areas, constant contact between the neighborhood and places to share public events and festivities.
