Double Pavilion Timber Wooden House Design Posted: 08 Dec 2011 05:28 AM PST Built on beachside in wooden structure, this pavilion is so unique. This house built for writer, and of course, from the location through interior designed appropriated for writer. Just look at the site, so calm and fully inspiration atmosphere. The writer without library? Impossible, isn't it? So there is huge library with built in cabinet that unified with wall. Looks so nice and smart to maintain used materials structures, which make it become useable in every spot. ![]() Pavilion Timber Wooden 2 ![]() Pavilion Timber Wooden 4 ![]() Pavilion Timber Wooden 3 The library placed in studio space with writing desk, and a grand piano. The pavilion's wooden structure, built by coupling indigenous techniques and materials with modern design technologies and aesthetics. The wood sourced from local timber, sits on a simple foundation of wooden stilts on small concrete pad foundations. Roof beams of up to 10 m long and 355 mm deep allow for an interior with no vertical columns. The mono-pitched roof elevates towards the sea shore, while the interior is through ventilated via a completely louvered glazed end façade. Set at a short distance along a raised walkway, a second smaller pavilion mirrors the first. This contains sleeping quarters and a bathroom. Externally, the pavilions are clad in corrugated steel sheeting, another locally used construction material. The overall effect is that of a building which blends with its surroundings, both visually and environmentally. Hmmm…modern house style built with local technique, very awesome blending and make this house more sustainable. And more than that luxuriant nature plays a part. |
