Old Mill House with Winery Posted: 13 May 2016 04:40 AM PDT In Decoarq are still looking for (and finding) projects who can rehabilitate with taste and respect for antiquity these properties of the past, preserved so much history within its walls. In this case, the House chosen for today’s post was an old mill located in the Priory, in Tarragona, which has been cleverly converted as housing.
In addition to being a superb contemporary House, old mill also now has a dedicated space to Winery. The building, of great beauty and historical attraction, is located in a very small town.
The exterior of the building, whose project of rehabilitation and reform has been made by the study MINIM architects (formed by Agnès Blanch and Elina Vila), has remained practically unchanged in considering the architects who had qualities more than sufficient of itself. Real reform has been in its interior, which currently enjoys spaces of pure design and concept widely minimalist.
The spaces are articulated around an imposing staircase wooden, as simple as spectacular. Distribution has respected the original spaces mostly, and currently on the ground floor we find a large lounge which includes kitchen-dining room, open-plan structure. The bedroom and bathroom are on the second floor. A porch full of elegance, with hardwood floors and a stylized sculpture in oxidized iron, creates a space that invites to rest and contemplation of the natural environment.

Modern offices of Bührmann Partners in Namibia Posted: 12 May 2016 04:40 PM PDT More than a block of offices, this building could easily correspond to modern and minimalist, pleasant housing with large glass doors that give access to the garden from the common areas. But in reality it is offices Bürhmann Partners firm established in Windhoek (Namibia) in 2010, and whose design is still a magnificent example of balance, elegance and quality.
The project was the winner of a mini contest that launched the company, and which won the Wasserfall Munting Architects Studio, captained by Jaco Wasserfall. The building stands on an estate of 1500 square meters, which is located in a street without exit located on the Klein Windhoek suburb . More than an office area is a residential area where the peace campaign by their respects. To build the new offices had to demolish the existing House, and also customers left well clear that original garden should be fully preserved. They also stipulate the use of cement and the introduction of water as an element of architecture. The three partners wanted to be placed in separate offices endowed with views over the garden. Starting from these premises, the simplicity and clarity of geometry were the inspiration for the overall project. A long beam of cement is used as a prominent axis of circulation, articulating a clear approach to building both by users and visitors. Individual offices and meeting rooms are directly connected with the glass facades of the main volume, framing the view that from this point are obtained from the garden.
