Chic Penthouse Interior Design in Canada by Smith Designs Posted: 13 Apr 2013 05:08 AM PDT This stylish and modern 910 Project penthouse interior created by Canadian awarded based interior designer Smith Designs. It’s a part of new residential suite penthouse building in Victoria Canada. This penthouse suite served as a display suite for the condo development before being privately purchased recently. The suite features chic and sophisticated finishing with granite flooring, honed granite counter tops, anthracite stained millwork and stainless steel appliances and backsplash in the kitchen, and custom hand-burnished plaster finishes on the large column and in the Powder Room. The Living Room interior created with modern furniture, featured a 360º custom gas fireplace finished in mirror-polished stainless steel. This custom fireplace was designed and built in collaboration with Fravashi Ironworks and Majestic Mechanical and provides a spectacular fire rising through glittering glass, viewed from all main living areas. Gas supply for this fireplace was only available through the ceiling, making this a real challenge to engineer. The North-East Bedroom features sliding glass partitions separating the bathroom and sleeping areas giving one continuous glass wall when closed, reflecting the views and allowing the space to feel much larger. This room is ideally situated to take advantage of the morning sunrise. The South-West Bedroom has mountain views and glimpses of great sunsets. The "Kitchen Theatre" is raised to allow views to Victoria Harbour and the Olympic Mountains, and provides bar-height seating to the lower Family Room area. It is also tied into the suite-wide home automation system. – Photos by Russ Heinl The post Chic Penthouse Interior Design in Canada by Smith Designs appeared first on Home & House Design Ideas | Interior. |
Triangular Garden House in Sweden by Tham & Videgård Architects Posted: 12 Apr 2013 05:08 PM PDT The Garden House created with unique triangular concept, designed at 180 sqm site area in Viksberg Sweden. This house designed by Tham & Videgård Arkitekter, a house conceived as an integrated vertical addition to the garden, where indoor and outdoor spaces gradually blend and interact. This house using all wood material both structure and finishes combine with glass. The triangular foot print is the result of a steep slope that diagonally crosses the site. With one of the long facades facing south we also managed to eliminate a pure northern façade. This further helped the idea of plants climbing high on the oversized trellis that cover some of the windows so that in time they will become hidden within the greenery. – Photos by Åke E:son Lindman The post Triangular Garden House in Sweden by Tham & Videgård Architects appeared first on Home & House Design Ideas | Interior. |
