Sustainable Cabin Private Housing in Nordmarka by Jarmund/Vigsnæs AS Arkitekter Posted: 15 Apr 2013 05:07 AM PDT This cabin situated in a freshly cut clearing in a deep forest in Nordmarka Norway, mainly used during wintertime as a basis for cross-country skiing in the nearby forests. This building designed by Jarmund/Vigsnæs AS Arkitekter, organized to welcome many visitors at a time. The relation between smaller private spaces and common space within the building has been carefully considered both in terms of scale and views. For example there are hatches which open from bed-coves into the central space. The plan is gathered around a two storey internal central space which is lit from sides and above and works in a way as a minor urban piazza of the building. The interior spans in scale from the small cave-like children's beds to the high-ceilinged central room. The secondary spaces, embracing the centre, work as light-filtration for natural light which is brought into the central space. According to this we define the house as a "thick house" because the secondary areas can be understood as architectural "insulation" between the outside and the core of the building, both in terms of organisation of the plan and the light-filtration. Embracing the dining area on the first floor are master bedroom, seating area, kitchen, storage for supplies and ski equipment, hallway, children's bedrooms, bathroom and master bedroom. On second floor there are bedrooms, storage and playroom. A black stained wooden shell with a light all wooden interior reflected the traditions of housing in the area. The construction is made of timber with 15 cm insulation in the walls, 20 cm in the floor, and 25 cm in the roof. The timber construction is clad with wooden panels both inside and outside. The roof is covered with wooden panels above a normal membrane. All fitted furniture and kitchen are designed uniquely by the architect, in general made of plywood of pine. In general pine and fir are used both for cladding and construction. Bathroom and hallway floors are covered with lime stone. – Photos by Nils Petter Dale The post Sustainable Cabin Private Housing in Nordmarka by Jarmund/Vigsnæs AS Arkitekter appeared first on Home & House Design Ideas | Interior. |
Private Las Lomas House Design in Buenos Aires by Esudio Ramos Posted: 14 Apr 2013 05:07 PM PDT Sited a top a wide lot surrounded by a dense forest of aged tree in Buenos Aires Argentina, Esudio Ramos has designed modern house remains private from the street and embraces the outdoors. Front façade with few openings in stark contrast to the back elevation which is practically all glass. This internal glassed space, articulates the house's different areas and all internal circulation emanates from it. On the ground floor, its purpose is to separate the formal living and dining room from the family room. The structure of the building consists of beams, slabs, column, and walls of reinforced concrete. Externally, the walls and pavement are of the same material. Inside, there is a predominant use of painted white plaster on walls and ceilings, which complements the floors made of incienso wood. The window openings are made of natural anodized aluminum. It evokes stone, which emphasizes its qualities of durability and hardness while being crafted in an artistic manner. There are several flat roofs that have been planted because of concerns ranging from the aesthetic, practical to environmental. - Esudio Ramos The post Private Las Lomas House Design in Buenos Aires by Esudio Ramos appeared first on Home & House Design Ideas | Interior. |
